Abstract :
Sino-Congolese cooperation is a strategic partnership between the Democratic Republic of Congo and China. This partnership in the mining sector has been executed by the Anhui-Congo Mining Investment Company (SACIM), which exploits diamonds in the Kasaï Oriental province. It should be noted that this Sino-Congolese joint venture, established in Tshibwe, in the Miabi territory, has had a significant impact on the region's development through the construction project of the Tubi-tubidi and Movo hydroelectric power stations, as well as the creation of about a hundred jobs. However, the implementation of the Sino-Congolese Agreement raises concerns regarding the improvement of access to basic social services (health, water, schools, electricity), even though this is one of the expectations outlined in the terms of reference and the Agreement itself. Thus, our study examined the context of this DRC-SACIM partnership, its contribution to local development in the Kasaï Oriental province, and the challenges it has faced. Finally, it was also necessary to outline some perspectives for the adequate respect of the texts governing the mining sector.
