L'Administrateur Gestionnaire des Institutions de Santé (AGIS) joue un rôle de plus en plus central dans la performance hospitalière. Cette étude s’intéresse à son impact au sein de l’Hôpital Général de Référence de Kenya à Lubumbashi, en se demandant : comment la présence d’un AGIS influence-t-elle la performance d’un hôpital ? Et quels dysfonctionnements apparaissent en son absence ? Une enquête qualitative et quantitative a été menée auprès de professionnels de santé afin de comparer les performances hospitalières selon la présence ou non d’un AGIS. Le recueil de données a porté sur la perception des rôles, de l'efficacité et de l’impact organisationnel de cette fonction. 50 % des répondants estiment que l’AGIS est essentiel à la planification et à l’organisation des services. 30 % mettent en avant son rôle dans la gestion financière, et 20 % dans la coordination des ressources humaines. 70 % des participants jugent que l’AGIS améliore la performance hospitalière, tandis que 20 % ne perçoivent pas d’impact clair. Globalement, 80 % estiment l'efficacité de l’AGIS satisfaisante ou très satisfaisante. L’AGIS est largement perçu comme un pilier stratégique et opérationnel essentiel dans les structures hospitalières. Son absence engendre des dysfonctionnements organisationnels notables. Il est nécessaire de mieux intégrer et valoriser cette fonction dans les politiques de gestion hospitalière. The Health Institutions Administrator-Manager (AGIS) is increasingly seen as crucial to hospital performance. This study examines its impact at the General Reference Hospital of Kenya in Lubumbashi, exploring how AGIS influences organizational performance and what dysfunctions arise in its absence. A mixed-methods approach was used, involving surveys of healthcare professionals to compare hospital performance with and without an AGIS. Data collection focused on perceived roles, effectiveness, and organizational consequences of the AGIS function. 50% of respondents see AGIS as primarily responsible for service planning and organization. 30% highlight its role in financial management, while 20% associate it with human resource coordination. 70% believe that AGIS improves hospital performance, although 20% see no impact. Overall, 80% of respondents find the AGIS's performance satisfactory or highly satisfactory. The AGIS is perceived as a vital strategic and operational pillar in healthcare institutions. Its absence leads to significant dysfunctions. Better integration and recognition of this role are essential for enhancing hospital governance and efficiency.
