Abstract :
The objective of the work was to carry out the phytochemical screening in the organs of nine plants selected for this research and, on the other hand, to carry out the extraction in order to obtain the crude methanolic and total alkaloids to assess their antifalcemic activity. Phytochemical screening have been realised out in the leaves, the barks of stem and roots of the following plant species : Afromosia angolensis (Baker) De Wild, Anisophyllea boehmii Engl., Combretum molle R.Br. ex G. Don, Erythrina abyssinica Lam, Khaya nyassica Stapf ex Bax, Pseudolachnostylis maprouneifolia Pax, Pterocarpus angolensis DC, Psorospermum febrifugum Spach and Ziziphus mucronata Wild. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of different groups of bioactive substances in all the organs analyzed. The most abundant group of bioactive substances was anthocyanins with 96% and terpenoids the least represented 44%. The presence of cyanogenic hétérosides was emphasized in all organs of d’E. abyssinica Lam. Of 72 tests performed, 63 were positive, or 87,5%. The highest extraction yield was that of the crude methanolic extracts, ie 25,731% and the lowest of the total alkoid extracts (0,010%). The results of the biological tests showed that with the methanolic extracts, the lowest TIF was that of the root barks of A. angolensis (Baker) De Wild (5,71%) while the leaves of E. abyssinica lam had a TIF of 84,59% (the highest TIF). The most active total alkaloid extract was that of P. maprouneifolia Pax with 96,64% and that of K. nyassica Stapf ex Bak was the least active, ie 12,57%. Biological tests shoxed that the total alkaloid extracts of five plant species (E. abyssinica Lam (F, ET, ER), P. febrifigum Spach (ET, ER), P. maprouneifolia Pax (F, ET, ER), C. molle (ER) and A. angolensis (Baker) De Wild (F, ER) have antifalcemic properties.
