Abstract :

Our study focuses on post-election conflicts in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2006 and 2023. Elections are part of representative democracy and allow the people to elect their representatives based on their social projects. However, they are nonetheless competitive processes that can provoke conflicts that, if not managed constructively, can potentially destabilize states, as was the case with the 2006 and 2023 elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Indeed, elections, which are supposed to be an element in strengthening Congolese democracy, have become a source of violence. This study seeks to demonstrate the origins of post-election conflicts and how to eradicate this scourge that threatens Congolese democracy. This study is based on the dialectical method, accompanied by observation and documentary techniques. This study is considered a very important intelligence tool for both political and scientific stakeholders. Through this document, they will be able to explain related concepts and understand the underlying causes of the threat to democracy arising from elections. This study confirms that the organization of elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo remains the trigger for conflicts, often after the results
